Dixie was a "stud fee" puppy, obtained from her breeder, Joyce Campbell, DVM. When I took her to her first show as a 6 month old puppy, a big cluster in Kansas City, she just stood up tall, as if to say "You can start now, _I'M_ here!!". She is a definite character.

She is the dam of 3 AKC champions, CH Winmere Gunsmoke, CH Winmere Riverboat Gambler, and CH Winmere Delta Queen, and a couple more I "should have shown". Through her daughter Winmere Lady Luck, she is the granddam of my current CH Daisax Winmere Night Chime. All of my current dogs trace to her, and her head study makes up the logo on my webpage.

She was supremely self-assured, self-centered, audacious, demanding, bound and determined to assert her opinions and preferences at all times. Woe be to anyone who disagreed!

Now I am thinking of all the many adventures, foibles, and mischief she engaged in, of all the comedy, exasperating stubbornness, and dignity she took on as her personal motto. But, most of all, I am trying to figure out what in the world life is going to be like with out her. I already miss her terribly.
